Silica sand double roll crusher consists of the roller bodies, equipped with crushing rings or crushing shells. The rolls are secured either with anchor bolts and end disks, or bolted with screws. In order to facilitate maintenance, the shafts are arranged in heavy-duty cast steel housing. To shorten the maintenance time and increase the productivity in cases of wear, SBM provides the smooth roll crusher with an onside roll turning lathe system.

To influence the final grain size of the product, one of the two crushing rolls is designed to move freely. The adjustment is done hydraulically with an integrated automatic horizontal overload protection. As an option, the system can be provided with a fully automatic, remote controlled exact gap measurement system. The hydraulic horizontal adjustment consists of two hydraulic differential cylinders and the corresponding hydraulic aggregates.
